What to know about marrying in Indiana
Your marriage license has to come from Indiana if the ceremony is in Indiana. Out-of-state couples apply in the county where the ceremony happens; Indiana residents apply in their home county. The state fee is $25 for residents and $65 for out-of-state couples, plus a small county document fee, and there is no waiting period. Alcohol at an Indiana venue has to be served under a state permit, which is why most venues either run their own bar or require a licensed caterer. The full Indiana and Kentucky rules are side by side on one page.
